Customer Challenge
Altered Carbon engaged SeveralClouds to spearhead the migration of their existing environments to the AWS Cloud, a pivotal step in enhancing scalability, reliability, and security. Our consultancy team provided comprehensive support throughout the migration process, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal disruption to operations. In addition to migration, SeveralClouds offered strategic insights into leveraging AWS services such as SageMaker and IoT, aligning them with Altered Carbon's business objectives.
Solution
Our team at SeveralClouds structured the cloud adoption into phases, beginning with the establishment of a robust foundation. We first set up the landing zone and built the AWS Account Structure, following a multi-account strategy that is key to success when customers are adopting AWS or expanding their footprint on the platform.
For the customer’s application environments, we provisioned all accounts following an Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) approach with Terraform. This ensured consistency, reliability, and scalability across all environments, as well as fast replication. Throughout the process, our team maintained ongoing communication with Altered Carbon’s team, actively engaging in meetings and demos to ensure decisions aligned with their requirements.
Every deployment was executed through Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows for each environment, underscoring our commitment to automation for efficiency and reliability. Before transitioning between environments, testing phases were conducted to validate functionality, performance, and security, guaranteeing a seamless migration process.
Recognizing the pivotal roles of data resilience and operational visibility, we implemented a robust backup strategy and monitoring framework for Altered Carbon's AWS environment. Additionally, to ensure the efficacy and security of these measures, we undertook a Well-Architected Review, synchronizing our efforts with the highest standards of AWS architecture.
