Why?

Organizations need efficient content delivery solutions to ensure their digital assets are distributed quickly and reliably to users worldwide. An effective content delivery strategy reduces latency, improves performance, and enhances user experience by serving content from locations closest to end users.

This approach is essential for maintaining consistent service quality across different geographical regions while supporting business expansion into new markets.

What?

AWS enables fast, secure, and scalable content delivery by leveraging its global network of data centers and edge locations. Whether you're distributing static websites, dynamic applications, or high-quality video, AWS services ensure that content reaches users with minimal latency and maximum reliability. At the core of this is the AWS Global Edge Network, which not only accelerates delivery but also provides built-in internet and DDoS protection—safeguarding your applications from threats while maintaining performance.

  • Millisecond response times for websites and web apps, thanks to edge caching and intelligent routing.
  • Enhanced API performance with support for edge termination, gRPC, and WebSockets.
  • Seamless streaming of live and on-demand video across the globe.
  • Ultra-low latency infrastructure, ideal for financial trading platforms and real-time multiplayer gaming.
  • Optimized VPN access, delivering secure and reliable connectivity for users worldwide.

What are the Benefits?

Leveraging AWS for content delivery offers a range of powerful advantages that help organizations improve performance, ensure global availability, and maintain robust security. From reducing latency to enhancing reliability and protecting against large-scale attacks, AWS provides the infrastructure and tools needed to deliver a seamless experience to users worldwide.

Reduced Latency

Content is served from locations closest to end users for improved performance through services like CloudFront and Global Accelerator.

Global Reach

AWS's network of data centers across multiple geographical regions allows organizations to deploy applications closer to their end users.

Enhanced Security

AWS Shield, AWS WAF, and other security services protect content while being distributed, with stateless SYN proxy capability that challenges new connection attempts and only serves legitimate end users.

DDoS Protection

Access to the internet and DDoS mitigation capacity across the AWS Global Edge Network helps mitigate larger volumetric attacks, which can reach terabit scale.

Reliability

AWS Global Accelerator improves the reliability, security, and latency of workloads by routing TCP and UDP traffic to the optimal endpoint based on performance.

IPv6 Support

AWS services support dual-stack configuration (IPv4 or IPv6) or IPv6-only configurations, solving the problem of IPv4 address exhaustion.

How?

Several Clouds provides expert guidance in deploying global content delivery solutions optimized for high-performance and regulated industries. We design architectures that deliver digital assets quickly and securely to users worldwide. Our expertise spans fintech applications that require millisecond-level latency for trading platforms and healthcare systems that need secure, HIPAA-eligible content distribution. All implementations adhere to security best practices by using end-to-end encryption for data in transit, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Global Access and Acceleration

AWS CloudFront

A content delivery network (CDN) that accelerates delivery of static and dynamic web content to end users through a worldwide network of data centers called edge locations. When an end user requests content served with CloudFront, the request is routed to the edge location nearest to the user with the lowest latency. CloudFront can be configured with an S3 bucket as the default origin for serving static content, while also supporting dynamic content delivery.

AWS Global Accelerator

Routes TCP and UDP traffic to the optimal endpoint based on performance in the closest AWS Region to the user, providing failover to the next best endpoint within 30 seconds during application failures. Global Accelerator automatically leverages the extensive network of AWS edge servers to onboard traffic to the AWS network backbone as soon as possible, resulting in lower request latencies.

Amazon Route 53

Supports percentage-based routing approaches as well as multiple other available policies including geoproximity and latency-based ones for optimal user experience. This highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) service can be used to direct traffic to your web application.

Amazon API Gateway

Creates public APIs so that customers can connect to workloads securely. When combined with other AWS edge services, it enables global API access with consistent performance.

Security Implementation

AWS WAF

Protects web applications from common exploits and attacks when integrated with CloudFront.

AWS Shield

Integrated with AWS edge services, reducing time-to-mitigate from minutes to sub-second for DDoS attacks.

Data Protection

Enhanced data protection measures include AWS Network Firewall, AWS Shield, AWS WAF, and Amazon Route 53 Resolver DNS Firewall to protect against evolving cyber risks.
